Saffier Medische Optiek & Laser Optiek
Saffier wordt gebruikt in het ruime gamma van medische en laser-toepassingen, hoofdzakelijk vanwege zijn unieke eigenschappen. Saffier heeft een hoge sterkte en duurzaamheid, bio-overeenstemming, spectrumbreedte van 200 tot 3500 nm en thermische geleidvastheid die 28 maal hoger ligt dan die van quartz of optisch glas.

The Masterpiece RF team together with Elipse Engineering, both leaders in radio frequency technology, faced the challenge of manufacturing a Radio Frequency Distribution Unit (RFDU) that was initially specified to be 5-6U in size with connectorized components. Both RF teams, committed to exceeding expectations, proposed an innovative solution that not only fulfilled the customer's requirements but also set a new standard for the production process.

The RF teams of Masterpiece Tech and Elipse Engineering developed together an innovative approach by recommending the adoption of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) components. This pivotal choice resulted in the development of a sleek 1U drawer, effectively halving the unit's size and substantially lowering production expenses. Furthermore, the engineers crafted a tailored Printed Circuit Board (PCB) circuit to enhance the new design further.

Technische informatie
Chemische resistentie: saffier is zeer inert en bied hoge weerstand tegen aantasting in de meeste procesomgevingen, inclusief hydrofluorisch zuur en fluorineplasma (NF3, CF4).
Mechanische eigenschappen: hoge sterkte en stijfheid, tot wel 6 keer hoger dan quartz. Dit, gecombineerd met goede slijtvastheid en krasbestendigheid, maakt saffier de voorkeur bij hoog prestatie-toepassingen.
Thermische eigenschappen: saffier is inzetbaar tot 2000 °C en is 28 maal beter thermisch geleidend dan quartz waardoor het zeer geschikt is voor gespecialiseerde toepassingen. Saffier biedt een hoog en stabiel dielektrische constante en elektrische isolatie voor elektronische tussenlagen, RF, microgolf-transmissie vensters en buizen.
